Value Added Tax (VAT) is a tax levied on most goods and services in Indonesia. The standard rate is 10 per cent; however, some goods and services are paid at different rates ranging from 5 to 15 per cent according to Indonesian rules.
It should be noted that Indonesia levies a separate tax on goods and services when selling luxury goods, which ranges from 10 to 50 per cent.
As a rule, your business must be registered for VAT purposes when its annual income reaches 4.8 billion Indonesian rupees (approximately 360,000 USD).

If you work for a company, they will register you and issue you a social security card.
